Anoop Tripathi's research on monocot grafting overturned the longstanding belief that staple crops like rice, wheat, maize, and bananas could not be grafted. This breakthrough enables the transfer of beneficial characteristics such as disease resistance, drought tolerance, and nutrient efficiency, enhancing crop resilience and productivity. Building on this work, he has successfully created a rice-millet hybrid that combines the best traits of both crops, offering innovative, climate-smart solutions for food security. His research has the potential to transform agriculture by developing disease-resistant, climate-resilient crops, promoting sustainable farming practices, and addressing urgent global challenges in feeding billions in a rapidly changing world.
