I am a machine learning (ML) researcher interested in its intersection with biology. I studied mathematics and statistics at the University of Toronto, where I also carried out research at the Vector Institute on computer vision. For my PhD, I have applied ML to biology in the field of cryogenic electron microscopy. My future plans include combining ML with continuous evolution to create a positive feedback loop between data generated from wet lab experiments and ML for the de novo design and optimization of proteins with novel functions.
