Congratulations to Dr. Clara Wanjura, who won a CSAR PhD student award in 2022, and has also just won the Institute of Physics prize for best PhD thesis (Sam Edwards Thesis Prize). This is an annual prize selecting the best PhD thesis in the field of Theory of Condensed Matter in the UK. Furthermore, she has received the Cavendish PhD Prize for Theoretical Physics for her paper in Nature Communications in 2020 (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-16863-9). This prize is awarded annually by the Cavendish Laboratory here in Cambridge. She is also organizing a online seminar series on non-Hermitian physics, and a workshopon ‘Frontiers of Neuromorphic Computing’.
